Engineering Net Zero: the Role of Batteries

24/06/2022, 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

As part of EPSRC Engineering Net Zero Week we invite you to attend a webinar “Engineering Net Zero: the Role of Batteries” on 24th June, 3-4.30pm.

Register today.

We invite researchers, industry leaders and policy makers to hear from three research leaders at the Faraday Institution as they outline what “Engineering Net Zero” means to them in their sphere of research. Using examples from Faraday Institution programmes they will demonstrate how energy storage research will contribute to finding net zero solutions and meeting sustainable development goals.

Join our speakers:

  • Prof Magda Titirici, Imperial College London
  • Prof Andrew Abbott, University of Leicester
  • Dr Nuria Tapia Ruiz, Lancaster University
  • Dr Jennifer Channell, Innovation Lead – Batteries, Innovate UK, will chair the session

Topics will include:

  • the need for informed cradle-to-cradle cost, performance, and environmental assessments to guide research directions;
  • the importance of battery design for recycling and the development of energy efficient, commercially viable closed loop recycling routes;
  • materials design as a route to sustainable batteries targeting performance requirements fit for multiple applications;
  • the complementarity of battery technologies across the energy ecosystem and the porous boundaries to other technologies.

Join us. There will be plenty of opportunity for Q&A.

Register today.

Please share.
