IMechE – Battery Energy Storage 2022
24/05/2022
This event will highlight a broad range of battery storage options, their importance in the future energy system, and pioneering developments in their design as well as use across a variety of applications.
Join Ian Ellerington, Head of Technology Transfer, Faraday Institution, who will be presenting “Battery research and system integration as an enabler for the energy transition – in Europe and emerging economies” at the session Cutting-edge battery design and materials for stationary storage at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ Battery Energy Storage 2022 event on 24th May at 11:10am. He’ll be illustrating his talk with two examples:
- The testbed project funded with support from the Interreg Europe STEPS programme, demonstrating innovations from AMTE Power, Brill Power and Starke Energy at Harwell Campus, which is helping to bring solutions from these three SMEs one stage closer to market.
- Faraday Institution’s two UKAid Transforming Energy Access projects on flow batteries for emerging economies.
Ian will also take part in a panel discussion at 14.40 Navigating the future of energy storage with Alicja Kowalewska-Montfort, Principal – Energy Storage, Gore Street Capital and Richard Dawson, Chief Technical Officer, LiNa Energy
