Alen has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford. His PhD focuses on using pillaring to achieve greater structural stability and longer lifetimes in layered sodium-ion cathode materials. He is supervised by Nuria Tapia-Ruiz at Imperial College London. His interest in the battery field first emerged after participating in a FUSE internship in 2022, investigating electrolyte transport properties. Alen is passionate about solving problems to help the global energy sector move towards Net Zero emissions.
