Supervisor(s): Peter Bruce

John-Joseph Marie (JJ) has recently completed his PhD in Materials Science at the University of Oxford under the supervision of Professor Peter Bruce. His thesis, titled “Towards Reversible High-Voltage Oxygen Redox in Secondary Alkali Ion Batteries” was focused on the development of high-voltage cathode materials for the next generation of Li-ion and Na-ion batteries. During his PhD JJ also carried out an internship with Rho Motion, who provide well-informed forecasts and analysis for the energy transition. His work there focused on understanding the scope for electrification in the Mining Industry.

JJ began working at the Faraday Institution as an Energy Storage Analyst in August 2022, where he hopes to contribute to the development of energy storage technologies which can help mitigate the effects of climate change.
