Session at November 2020 Faraday Institution Conference

Sessions at the Faraday Institution 2020 Conference will include:

  • Three keynotes: Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands Combined Authority, and Kristina Edström of Uppsala University have confirmed they will speak. We are in the process of inviting an industry keynote.
  • Project presentations. These will be shorter and more focused than at previous conferences: 15 mins + 5 mins Q&A
  • Presentation/panel sessions on cross-cutting themes, each of which will have an external invited speaker as well as speakers from around the FI projects:
    • Materials research and discovery of new materials
    • Scale-up of materials and processes
    • Test protocols, best practice, data management and experimental design
    • Facilities/capability building and characterisation techniques
  • Plenty of opportunity for networking.
  • 2-day poster sessions for early career researchers.
  • Commercialisation updates, giving entrepreneurial fellows and projects with spin out opportunities a chance to publicise their progress and identify and develop collaboration opportunities with industry and academic attendees.
  • A session around the commercial context for battery research, including use of batteries in emerging markets.
  • A small exhibition area:
    • Where we will encourage projects to bring interesting tech to display that could help to start conversations with a wide range of people in attendance. We’ll send further details to projects in September.
    • For industry attendees to use in any way they wish - to highlight technology development or career or collaboration opportunities.
