Read more about how our 2020 PhD cohort will form as planned in October 2020 and news on how the Faraday Institution PhD training programme is adapting to remote working.

Planning is under way for the next academic year, which will see bespoke PhD training tailored to new ways of working. We have had over 280 expressions of interest to join the next Faraday Institution PhD cohort to begin in October 2020 and universities are well on the way to recruiting to the 14 positions available. There are a few places left to fill so please do share our PhD studentships page with your networks.

‘The show must go on’ was our mentality around delivering our PhD training programme during lockdown. Thankfully Imperial Business School, Greg Offer and Billy Wu were like minded and in April we were able to provide the Year 2 cohort with a deep dive into business model innovation, entrepreneurship and how to run a research lab via a week of online sessions. Break out rooms were used to good effect and PhD researchers were even able to present business concepts in groups to a panel of experts.
